Cheese Straws

We're approaching party season.  Did you know how easy it is to make cheese straws?  Well these are totally irresistible.

Cheese straws - Makes 5 (easy to make more)

Ingredients

Approx 15cm, 6inch square ready rolled puff pastry
1 tsp Dijon mustard
1 tbsp Extra mature (extra sharp) cheddar
Milk for brushing

Method

Preheat the oven to 200oC, 400F, Gas Mark 6.

Spread the square on one side with mustard then sprinkle with cheese.  Cut into 5 strips then twist once or twice.  Brush any exposed areas of pastry with milk.

Bake for approx 15 minutes or until browned, puffed and crisp.
